The Lycian 1281 Superstar is a 1000W LED followspot delivering professional-grade beam quality and control for concert touring, theatrical productions, corporate events, and arena applications. Operating at 6300K color temperature with a 5 to 14-degree zoom range, it produces a crisp, controllable beam with the mechanical precision that demanding followspot operators expect from the Lycian name. For productions requiring a lighter, lower-power followspot option, the Lycian ZOT LED is also available for rental.
Precise Optical Control
Beam size is controlled by a top-mounted lever operating a nichrome steel iris for smooth, responsive aperture changes during live performance. A top-mounted fader lever handles dimming, and an internally mounted self-cancelling color boomerang holds 6 gel frames for fast color changes without interrupting the follow. Optical quality lenses complete the system, delivering clean edge definition across the full zoom range.
Integrated Power Supply and Quiet Operation
The 1000W LED source is housed near the rear of the head with the electronic power supply integrated directly into the followspot body, eliminating the need for a separate ballast or power unit. The unit draws 9.2A at 120V or 5.3A at 208V with a 1100W maximum power draw via PowerCon adapter. Quiet low-volume fans keep operating noise minimal in theatre and broadcast environments where fan noise is a concern.
Road-Ready Construction
The extruded aluminum and cold-rolled steel housing is powder coated in black and brown. The unit ships with a four-legged folding steel base with locking casters. Head weight is 125 lbs with the stand adding 42 lbs, so plan accordingly for operator positions.
