LightShark LS Core: Eight Universe Control in Something That Fits in a Backpack
Most eight universe consoles want rack space, a road case, and a dedicated spot at FOH. The LS Core wants a power outlet and a WiFi connection. The full LightShark engine runs onboard the hardware itself, not on a connected laptop or tablet, which means if your device crashes mid-show the console keeps running. You control it through any web browser on any device, up to three simultaneously, so your LD, your board op, and your LD’s phone can all be in the loop at once.
Feature Set That Punches Above Its Size
4,096 DMX channels across 8 universes, 1,200 cues, 30 pages, 10 main playbacks, a built-in FX generator with 20-plus effects, full MIDI mapping, and an integrated fixture editor with virtual mode support. Art-Net, sACN, DMX, OSC, UDP, MIDI, and HTTP protocol support covers any integration scenario. Two direct 5-pin XLR DMX outputs handle two universes locally, with the remaining six available over the network.
Architectural and Install Applications
The built-in task scheduler runs time-based and trigger-based programming without a connected device, making the LS Core a strong fit for permanent installs where the show needs to run autonomously. It fits a quarter-rack format and pairs with the LS-AR19 accessory to build an 8-universe output system in 1U.
